@Neeko:
Mod will be developed alongside the standalone game.
Aside of that ArmA II is a good game really.

DayZ, the insanely popular mod for ArmA II, is going to be made into its own standalone game. Dean Hall, creator of DayZ, had already said that he wanted to have DayZ as its own game, as there are certain things which are just not possible through modding of the existing engine. Hall will be overseeing the game as project lead and the game will be published by Bohemia Interactive, creators of ArmA. He says that the game will "follow the Minecraft development model" which will mean there should be fast releases with a heavily discounted community alpha available before the game's release.
For those of you that may already be playing the mod, there is no need to worry, as the mod will still be supported fully while the game is in development and anyone playing the mod will be able to continue doing so.
